While five amateurs have already qualified for invitation the next 60 spots will be filled via the World Amateur Golf Ranking. A scary scene at the World Amateur Handicap Championship turned into a heroic moment for a Myrtle Beach golf pro two weeks ago.
The report comes from reporter Alan Blondin who spoke with Whitt McCullough and another assistant pro at the course. “I did not feel a pulse on Mr. Whitt so I began and took over compressions at that point” McCullough told Blondin. “As time elapsed I did regain a pulse and was able to feel it and sustain it.”
The Augusta National Women’s Amateur will finish on Saturday April 6 — the Saturday prior to Masters Week — with coverage hitting NBC from noon to 3 p.m ET. That day will (likely) be the final round (of three) wrapping the 54-hole tournament one day prior to the annual Drive Chip and Putt National Finals.
Tickets will be available for all three rounds. If you successfully acquire passes to the first two rounds your entry will be free. Passes for the final round at Augusta National will run you $75.
Over two days of surveying at the PGA Championship and the Wyndham Championship 59 players participated including four major winners one 2018 major winner and three of the top-20 players in the world. The result? Sweet sweet candor.
