Over two days of surveying at the PGA Championship and the Wyndham Championship 59 players participated including four major winners one 2018 major winner and three of the top-20 players in the world. The result? Sweet sweet candor.
“That was pretty powerful” McCullough said. “It was because that’s just not something you’re used to in the ER. …If they are somebody saved they’re either kicked up to [the intensive care unit] or shipped to MUSC. You may never see them again.”
“I’m so glad that I came out” Fujikawa told Outsports. “I can finally be the best version of me.” Dustin Johnson addressed rumors about his relationship with fiancée Paulina Gretzky in a tweet on Tuesday night.
“Every relationship goes through its ups and downs but most importantly we love each other very much and are committed to being a family. Thank you for your love and support” he wrote.
Fujikawa 27 posted a picture to Instagram accompanied by a caption explaining his decision to come out. He told Outsports that he had not come out to anyone in the professional golf world until Tuesday’s post. “The love and support have been overwhelming” he said.
The report comes from reporter Alan Blondin who spoke with Whitt McCullough and another assistant pro at the course. “I did not feel a pulse on Mr. Whitt so I began and took over compressions at that point” McCullough told Blondin. “As time elapsed I did regain a pulse and was able to feel it and sustain it.”
An emergency crew soon arrived and transported Whitt to a local hospital where he miraculously survived. According to story the chance of survival in a situation like that is roughly 2%. Just days later Whitt stopped by the golf course to meet the man who saved his life.
Fujikawa came onto the scene as a teenage amateur sensation from Hawaii who qualified for the 2006 U.S. Open at Winged Foot. He turned pro the following year and made the cut at the Sony Open becoming the youngest player in decades to make a weekend on the PGA Tour.

“While we aim to stage a first-class championship our motivation goes beyond the scores posted between the ropes” Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley said in a press release.
As a press release for the tournament notes “This is not a lottery contest sweepstakes or ‘give-away’ but rather a pre-qualification for those persons wishing to purchase tickets to the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship.”
His approach to commentary has drawn the ire of some pros including Tiger Woods who said Chamblee is good “for people who don’t play the game” with a grin at this year’s Players.
