In GOLF’s 2018 anonymous player poll we surveyed 59 Tour pros on a wide variety of subjects (Slow play! Cheating on Tour! Tiger vs. Phil!). One of the most compelling questions came on NBC/Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee who has a history of polarizing opinions.
“That was pretty powerful” McCullough said. “It was because that’s just not something you’re used to in the ER. …If they are somebody saved they’re either kicked up to [the intensive care unit] or shipped to MUSC. You may never see them again.”
As part of newest rollout the USGA and R&A combined to create a “Player’s Edition” to make the Rules easier and quicker to understand. You can view the Player’s Edition here where each rule is included with purposes for each. The intuitive set of rules is grouped into 10 categories such as Bunkers and Putting Greens Lifting and Returning a Ball to Play Penalty Relief and more.
“So…I’m gay” he wrote. “Many of you may have already known that. I don’t expect everyone to understand or accept me. But please be gracious enough to not push your beliefs on me or anyone in the LGBTQ community. My hope is this post will inspire each and every one of you to be more empathetic and loving towards one another.
McCullough well trained in the golf swing has also trained as an EMT. He sprang into action rushing to the 15th tee box to apply “aggressive CPR” to resuscitate Whitt who didn’t have a pulse when McCullough arrived on the scene.

“I’ve been back and forth for a while about opening up about my sexuality. I thought that I didn’t need to come out because it doesn’t matter if anyone knows. But I remember how much other’s stories have helped me in my darkest times to have hope.
“I can’t wait for the day we all can live without feeling like we’re different and excluded. A time where we don’t have to come out we can love the way we want to love and not be ashamed. We are all human and equal after all. So I dare you…spread love. Let’s do our part to make this world a better place.”
What’s really on the minds of the best golfers in the world? In the polite confines of the PGA Tour it’s often hard to know. Until now. With the goal of letting players let it fly we granted them anonymity and picked their brains on a wide range of hot-button topics (cheating on Tour! Tiger v. Phil! Brandel Chamblee!).

The Augusta National Women’s Amateur will finish on Saturday April 6 — the Saturday prior to Masters Week — with coverage hitting NBC from noon to 3 p.m ET. An emergency crew soon arrived and transported Whitt to a local hospital where he miraculously survived. According to story the chance of survival in a situation like that is roughly 2%. Just days later Whitt stopped by the golf course to meet the man who saved his life.
